Financial advisors are significantly increasing their exposure to cryptocurrency, with 99% of those who allocated to digital assets in 2025 planning to maintain or grow their positions in 2026, according to the latest Bitwise/VettaFi survey. The eighth annual report highlights a surge in institutional adoption, with 32% of advisors now investing in crypto for clients—up 10% from the previous year.

Portfolio allocations are also expanding, as 64% of client portfolios with crypto exposure now exceed 2%, a sharp rise from 51% in 2024. Personal ownership among advisors has reached a record high, with 56% holding cryptocurrency in their own portfolios—the highest level since the survey began in 2018.

Institutional access continues to climb, with 42% of advisors reporting the ability to buy crypto for client accounts, up from 35% in 2024 and just 19% in 2023. The trend underscores growing confidence in digital assets as a legitimate component of diversified investment strategies.
